How we score chiropractors in the Klang Valley guide

This page explains how we score the 111 chiropractor businesses listed in the Klang Valley Chiropractor Guide. The method is the same for every listing on the site, whether it's a well-known clinic in Bangsar or a small practice in Klang. Nobody can pay to change a score, and we say more about that below.

The five signals behind the score

Each business gets a composite score out of 100, built from five measured signals. We list them here from heaviest to lightest weight, because the order tells you what we think matters most when you're choosing a chiropractor.

Sentiment: 28%

This is a synthesis of what recent reviews actually talk about, the praise and the complaints, read as a pattern rather than a single number. It carries the most weight for a simple reason: a star average hides what's really going on. Two clinics can both sit at 4.3 stars, but one has a spread of small gripes while the other has the same complaint (rough adjustments, rushed sessions, billing surprises) showing up again and again. Only reading the reviews themselves catches that difference. A star rating tells you roughly how people felt. Sentiment tells you why.

Rating: 26%

This is the clinic's aggregate Google star rating. It's still one of the fastest signals of general satisfaction, so it carries real weight, just not more than sentiment, because a rating on its own can't distinguish a clinic with consistent, specific problems from one with only scattered, unrelated ones.

Volume: 20%

How many reviews a business has, log-scaled so that five reviews don't carry anywhere near the weight of five hundred. Log-scaling matters because raw counts would let a handful of enthusiastic reviews swing a score as much as a large, stable base of feedback. Volume is really a confidence check on the rating and sentiment above it.

Recency: 13%

How recently people have actually reviewed the business. A clinic that hasn't had a fresh review in two years might have changed practitioners, hours, or quality entirely. Recent activity keeps the score tied to what you'd experience if you walked in this month.

Completeness: 13%

Whether the listing has a working phone number, website, posted hours, and address. This isn't about review quality, it's about whether you can actually reach the place and know when it's open before you turn up. A clinic that hides basic contact details makes for a worse booking experience regardless of how good the adjustments are.

Where the score gets less certain

We're upfront about the limits of this method. A business with only a few recent reviews doesn't have enough data to support a confident score, so we mark it as low-confidence rather than pretend otherwise. We also don't republish reviews wholesale. What you read in our sentiment summaries is our synthesis of recurring themes, and we link out to the original Google listing so you can read the source reviews yourself and judge for your own.

Scores are earned, not sold

Every score on this site comes from the rubric above and the underlying review data, nothing else. Paid placement, where it exists on the site, is always labelled clearly and never touches the score a business earns. If any list on this guide, such as our sports injury chiropractic picks, involved editorial review of the order or selection, that is disclosed on the page itself. If it's not disclosed, the ranking is rubric-only.
